Fun Fact Friday 🇺🇸🐾 Memorial Day Edition

🐕‍🦺 Did you know?
Military working dogs have served alongside U.S. troops since World War I and are trained to detect explosives, locate injured soldiers, and protect their handlers. Many are awarded medals and honored for their bravery just like human service members.

❤️ This Memorial Day, we remember not only the men and women who gave their lives in service, but also the courageous military animals who served beside them.

🐾 “No buddy left behind” applies to our four-legged heroes too.

🐾🌎 Fun Fact Friday – National Endangered Species Day 🌎🐾

Did you know veterinarians play an important role in protecting endangered species? 🦏🐢🦜

Veterinarians don’t just care for cats and dogs — many also work with zoos, wildlife rehabilitation centers, aquariums, and conservation programs to help protect endangered animals around the world. From treating injuries to monitoring animal health and helping with breeding programs, veterinary medicine is an important part of wildlife conservation. 💚

Every animal matters, from our family pets to the rarest species on Earth! 🌿🐾

🐎🌹 Fun Fact Friday: Derby & Oaks Edition! 🌸🐾

It’s Kentucky Derby weekend, and we’re celebrating these incredible athletes with some fun horse facts!

🏇 Racehorses can reach speeds up to 40–44 mph—that’s faster than most dogs!

🎂 All Thoroughbreds share the same birthday: January 1st (no matter when they’re actually born!)

🌸 The Kentucky Oaks features female horses (fillies), while the Derby includes mostly males—though a few talented fillies have raced (and even won!)

❤️ Some racehorses have exceptionally large hearts—helping power their strength, stamina, and speed

🌬️ At full gallop, horses take one breath per stride—about 150 breaths per minute!

🌹 The Derby winner is draped in 554 red roses, while the Oaks winner receives beautiful lilies for the fillies

🐴 Even superstar racehorses need companionship—they’re herd animals and thrive with friends in the barn

Whether they’re racing at Churchill Downs or relaxing in a pasture, horses are truly amazing animals 💚
