In 2007 several harness teams were added to the farm herd. Morgan cross team Bell and Beau, Percherons Bill and Slim and a Shire Team Ben and Jerry.
Lola worked with these driving teams with former owner Ray Jensen, who for years, was well known teamster around Washington State.
Along with the horses, the farm also purchased a beautiful Vis A vis wedding carriage. A Ketchikan Trolley, and a red passenger wagon.
Percheron gelding Bob was added to the team when Slim retired. Bill is still at the farm in his retirement; he is the supervisor horse for the new weanlings as they are turned out to pasture. Bob is currently a favorite of our trail and lesson riders
The Driving teams were a staple at the Christmas trolley rides in the month of December every year in Anacortes. They were used at the Burlington Fall Festival for many years and a favorite was touring local cemeteries with the Skagit Historical Museum.
Weddings that hired the horses and the carriage were beautifully done and made memorable celebrations.
The harness horse aspect changed because of COVID. The service was discontinued, and the teams became useful trail and lesson horses.
There were a lot of great memories made during that time, so many people enjoyed this experience.
