Feeling relieved that the d**es held, protecting our part of the county, but sad for those whose homes were flooded. The horses that were evacuated have all returned, and the two evacuees we took in will be going home today, so things are starting to feel more normal for us (though I'll miss having this adorable little dude around!). So very grateful to our friends who took in horses for us, and to all of those who have worked so hard to keep us safe. Now bracing for forecasted high winds and more rain which will cause more flooding.

Flood update: We're okay here so far. Some horses have left, and we have taken in two that were at risk. We feel that we can protect those that are still here if the unthinkable happens and a d**e fails. Hoping for the best, and preparing for the worst.

And several blisteringly hot days later, the hay barn is filled to bursting. Ready for winter!
