🚨 NEW PARTNER ALERT! 🚨

Dr. Swanson and Dawn were invited into Town and Country Veterinary Clinic recently and the entire team was so welcoming. While there, they happened to see Louie, who suffered from a luxating patella and a cruciate injury. Dr. Swanson was able to correct both orthopedic issues with one surgery, and we are wishing this cutie a speedy recovery!

We appreciate you inviting MOVES into your hospital, and for giving Dr. Swanson the opportunity to participate in the care of your patients! We look forward to collaborating again in the near future!

Dr. Swanson met Nala and performed a consultation about her luxating patella at North Main Animal Clinic. This is a common condition encountered in dogs and treatment will depend on the severity of the luxation, but more advanced cases do require surgical intervention. 🐶❤️

Dr. Swanson and Dawn visited North Main Animal Clinic to perform an MPL repair on Violet.

This surgery stabilizes the kneecap when patients like Violet suffer from a patellar luxation; a condition where the kneecap moves out of its natural position. If left untreated, the movement from the kneecap could predispose to the development of arthritis and can lead to mobility issues.

This sweet girl will feel so much better now, and we appreciate having the opportunity to participate in her care! ❤️🥰 🐾

Dr. Swanson and Dawn recently visited Miami Veterinary Care to see Skye for a TPLO procedure to help stabilize her knee joint. Very similar to humans, dogs commonly suffer from injuries to the ligaments (Cranial Cruciate Ligament) and the cartilage (Meniscus) within the knee. Once these tissues are damaged, the knee becomes unstable and this leads to the development of swelling (effusion) within the joint. Overtime, arthritis will form, so not only will mobility be affected but the condition is painful.

While Team Ohio was recently at Great Miami Veterinary Care, Gunner came in for persistent vomiting and inappetence. He had been suffering from these symptoms for several days and wasn't improving despite exceptional supportive and symptomatic care. An abdominal ultrasound raised concern for possible foreign material within his GI Tract, so an abdominal exploratory surgery was performed to investigate.

Dr. Swanson identified foreign material within his colon, and several areas of his small intestines were bruised from the passing of this material. While in surgery, Dr. Swanson took the opportunity to perform a Prophylactic Gastropexy. This is a procedure that "tacks" the stomach in place, preventing a more serious condition called a GDV.

Dr. Swanson and Dawn visited Miami Valley Animal Hospital to perform a perianal gland mass removal on Sophie. With the mass now removed, Sophie will be much more comfortable during her daily activities.

NEW PARTNER ALERT! 🚨

Dr. Swanson & Dawn were invited into Great Miami Veterinary Care for the first time recently and the team was so welcoming! This handsome kitty, Loki, suffered a fracture to his right radius (forearm).

Team Ohio was able to reduce and stabilize Loki's injury with a cast. We are so happy that we were able to assist the team at Great Miami Veterinary Clinic, and we are looking forward to seeing Loki's progress as he heals!
