Meet Monty🖤

Monty came into our shelter as an itty bitty puppy last year! Unfortunately, he doesn’t get along with farm birds and recently came back to us!

Monty is a snuggle bug to his core! He may be big, but he is definitely a lap dog! He loves cuddles, kisses, and hanging out with people! He’s truly one of the sweetest dogs in the world, he just needs some attention.

Monty is a little shy which is keeping him from thriving the way he should. The shelter is a hard place for him bc the noise and crowd can be intimidating due to his timidness.

A safe and comfortable home would mean the world to Monty🥺

💙 Montgomery County Animal Shelter Remembers Dr. Russell Skinner 💙

The Montgomery County Animal Shelter extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Dr. Russell Skinner following his passing.

Dr. Skinner was not only a respected member of our community, but he also served as a board member of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter Advisory Board. His willingness to serve, his compassion for our community, and his dedication to helping make Montgomery County a better place will not be forgotten.

We are deeply saddened by his loss, and our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family during this incredibly difficult time. 🙏

We encourage members of our community to come together and show their support for Dr. Skinner’s family by attending his visitation and paying their respects.

Our longest resident, Tank, got to enjoy a little day out today. After spending over a year in the shelter, something as simple as getting out, exploring, and feeling like a normal dog is such a special treat for him. 🥺

But we have to ask…
WHY IS TANK STILL WITH US???
Tank is a fantastic dog. He does great with other dogs, absolutely loves people, and is just an all-around sweet boy. He has so much love to give and is patiently waiting for someone to finally look past his kennel and say, “That’s my dog.” ❤️

It breaks our hearts that he has spent so much of his life waiting.
Long-term shelter residents aren't bad dogs.
Sometimes… they've simply been overlooked for far too long.

Tank is GOOD.
Tank is LOVING.
Tank is READY.
Tank just needs someone to choose him. 🥺🐾

Ivy, female Bully Terrier 8 years old. Spayed, shots good. Very protective. Gets attached easily. Good with cats. Lives inside with me and an American Staffordshire 10 years old bull dog, Chance, her companion. She goes outside to potty.
Ivy has sneaky look sometimes. Takes up with some strangers, but not all. Good guard dog. She has anxiety, hates storms. Prefers a house with no small children. Ive not been well, not able to take care of them.

Chance, male, 10 years old American Staffordshire dog. Neutered, shots. Very loveable, cuddles, good with cats, and people. Loves kids. Lives inside with me and Ivy, Bully Terrier. Goes outside to potty. Dont like storms, gets really close to you when it storms. Would be a great children service dog. Very friendly. Rosa Spencer 859-697-5760.

Winnie is an adorable little Manchester terrier mix who may be a bit shy when you first meet her, but give her just a little time and she quickly comes out of her shell! ❤️

Once Winnie gets comfortable, her sweet personality really shines. She is a really gentle player when it comes to other dogs! 🐶💕 A furry sibling may be the perfect way to help her feel right at home.

If you are looking for a super sweet girl who is full of love, consider giving Winnie or any of our other dogs a chance! We are full of GREAT dogs!!!

She was found as a stray at the beginning of this month and honestly, she is has been nothing short of amazing!

✅ Loves people
✅ Loves other dogs
