Quick update with Shiesty regarding his growling & barking issues when the crate is being approached. He's been with us for about 6 days and each day prior to walks or feedings his growled and/or barked as the crate was being approached. Owners have been dealing with this behavior for months! You're not going to wait this behavior out. You're not going to "treat" and bribe this behavior out. Simple solution so that you can address the behavior THEN create a new one....add a consequence to the nuisance behavior. Consequences don't need to be harsh but they need to be effective. You shouldn't spend a ton of time on addressing certain behaviors as this allowing it to be more of a behavioral issue than it needs to be.
