This has to be one of the sweetest love stories we’ve ever witnessed. ❤️

Sweet Pea came as a foster to help him become more socialized and receive the one-on-one attention he needed. He was a young cat, found all alone on the streets of Los Angeles and rescued before it was too late.

Bubblegum has always had a special gift with foster kittens. He welcomes every little one into his home and seems to know exactly what they need. While he’s shared his space with a few adult fosters over the years, he never seemed particularly interested in them.

Then Sweet Pea arrived.

The connection was instant.

From day one, Bubblegum completely adored him. They cuddle constantly, and Sweet Pea often falls asleep right on top of Bubblegum. Even though they’re both large cats, they somehow manage to cram themselves into the same basket, box, or bag just to be together.

They wrestle and play, and, then settle down to groom each other and curl up side by side.

What started as a foster placement turned into a beautiful friendship. Watching these two together is a reminder that sometimes the best relationships happen when you least expect them. ❤️

Gracie’s kittens have started eating gruel, but they still find comfort in nursing. She’s such a patient, loving mother that they’re able to transition to solid food at their own pace.

There’s truly nothing better for young kittens than their mama. This will be Gracie’s last litter, and once these babies are grown, she can focus on sunbathing and other important relaxing cat duties.

We rescued a tiny fluffy kitten who had clearly been struggling to survive on his own. Finn was found completely alone in a busy alley, tucked beside overflowing trash bins while cars and people rushed past without noticing him.

Finn is dangerously underweight, his soft fur was covered in fleas, and he is weak from being out there by himself for so long. What worried us most was that he seems to have a neurological issue affecting his hind legs, making it difficult for him to walk properly.

Despite everything he has been through, he is incredibly gentle and he tried to purr once he was finally picked up and brought to safety. Finn is now in our care, receiving food, warmth, medical attention, and the love he’s desperately needed. He has a long road ahead of him, but he is no longer fighting alone!

We are overwhelmed with cats and kittens in our care right now, and we are urgently in need of cat food donations. Every day we’re trying to make sure these babies are fed, healthy, and safe — but supplies are running dangerously low.

Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to us and to the many hungry mouths depending on our rescue. Wet food, dry food, kitten food — everything helps.

If you’re able to donate or share this post, you’d be making a huge difference for these sweet cats and kittens. Thank you for supporting us during this difficult time. 🐾

We have a few new cats that were recently rescued from a domestic dispute, where the couple broke up and unfortunately, as it happens so often, the cats were caught up in the middle. They were not fed properly and then dumped outside at another location.

The cats are stressed and a few stopped eating completely.

This is Jack, beautiful solid grey chatty boy, and a sensitive soul. We have been trying many tasty foods at different temps, and today he ate a bunch of Churu.

Jack is also wearing a stress-reducing pheromone collar to help him feel safe again. After everything he’s been through, even this small step feels huge. Eating again means hope. 💙

Good News Friday! PUDDING has been adopted!!

We are always happy when one of our rescued cats find a home, but we are extra excited for Pudding because she is a SENIOR with a slight case of CEREBELLAR HYPOPLASIA.

Pudding is really no trouble at all and an affectionate angel - but we wondered if anyone would look past her labels to see how wonderful she is. Someone did, and scooped her up after one meet and greet!!

People who adopt special needs and senior animals are truly gems. They not only help those individual cats, but also create room to rescue more!

Pudding was found as a stray and taken to a shelter, where she came down with a bad upper respiratory infection. ACR’s rescue program is focused mainly on shelter cats and kittens whose lives are at risk. We bring them to a safe environment and give them the medical attention needed. Every one adopted makes room for another one saved!

Update on the little calico, now Thumper, who was left at our office door…

A great family stepped in to foster her. She now has more than one devoted caretaker, feeding her and cuddling her in a safe environment. She also has a couple adult kitties who are very politely tolerating her presence!

We are lucky and grateful that this family offered their home for Thumper. We did not have a place to quarantine any more babies, who are too young to be vaccinated.

Meet Cilantro and her kittens🌿

Cilantro is a very young mama — likely under a year old herself. She was found dirty, thin, frightened, and trying to care for her babies in a busy high-traffic city area.

She’s clearly social and comfortable with people, which means she likely once depended on humans who never got her spayed or properly identified. Like so many young cats, she ended up paying the price for that neglect.

Now she and her kittens are finally safe, warm, and getting the care they deserve. 💚

ABANDONED.

A tiny 3-week-old kitten was abandoned outside our door, just 12–15 feet from Route 1 and a very busy double roadway. We’re heartbroken and terrified for this little baby.

We urgently need an experienced bottle feeder in the Maryland/DC area who can foster and care for the kitten for the next few weeks until it’s strong enough to thrive.

***Please DM us if you have experience with neonatal kittens and are able to help. Sharing is also deeply appreciated. 🐾

(We do have Ring images of the person who dumped the kitten, but choose not to share at this time).

Mesa News…what a weekend

His nose is a little bloody because a tissue sample was taken for a biopsy, which is expected and nothing to worry about. The main issue continues to be the ongoing nasal inflammation and mucus.

He has also undergone several procedures and treatments, including a CT scan, rhinoscopy, multiple urgent ER visits, and additional follow-up care. The amount of medical care he’s needed has been extensive, and the costs have added up quickly.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated toward his care and supported him through all of this.
