Matej's Taxidermy Studio has recently experienced a significant increase in followers, prompting us to take a moment to extend a warm welcome and introduce ourselves. We are Andrew and Baily Matej, the proud owners of this small, family-operated business. As the primary taxidermy artist, Andrew oversees daily operations, while Baily manages administrative tasks, social media, and various other duties essential to running a small business. With professional training completed in 2015, Andrew has amassed considerable experience working in multiple taxidermy shops. Following his relocation to the Mt. Vernon area in December 2022, he established his studio full-time. Baily (Hunnicutt), a native of Mt. Vernon, contributes her skills to the studio while maintaining a full-time position in town. Our shared passion for the outdoors and wildlife brought us together, and we aim to help you preserve your cherished hunting memories. As always it was a very fun and educational weekend at the Texas Taxidermy Association show in Killeen. Grateful to be able to converse and see friends and fellow taxidermist that unfortunately don’t get to see more often. Hopefully everyone made it home safely and look forward to seeing y’all next year if not hopefully sooner.

If you’re a client, friend or family please help us out by spreading the word that we are still here! You can do that by sharing our page, a post, or tagging us in a picture of a mount that Andrew has done for you! The biggest compliment you can give a small business is by sharing your experience with people you know to help the business grow!
