✨⭐️Spotlight Time⭐️✨
Meet Ellie Mae!
Sweet Ellie has been a weekly client for over a year now, getting daily walks 3-4 times a week.
Ellie is goofy, loving, smart, and loves playing.
Ellie also has what we call leash reactivity. Ellie loves playing with friends in a relaxed setting, but she is triggered when she and other dogs are leashed. This is super common for a lot of different reasons, it just depends on the dog.
Ellie, like many of my clients, is triggered by wearing a leash, but our girl loves a good walk(as long as it’s not raining or too hot or too cold 😉), and she deserves time during the day to stretch her legs and explore safely!
Ellie’s parents hired me to give her that time. Throughout the last year, I have learned Ellie Mae’s movements. I can feel the slightest change in her movement or posturing, and because of that, most of the time, I am able to prevent a reaction before it happens.
When we first started our walks, passing other dogs was quite a challenge. Now, Ellie is able to focus on me and let the other dog pass without getting overwhelmed, and her walks are just the thing she needs to break the day up 💙
Ellie Mae is also one of the most photogenic pups so narrowing down a picture was HARD, so enjoy 2 🤩
**** The biggest thing to note here: Reactive does NOT mean aggressive. Her intentions are not to harm, she just experiences an overwhelming rush of emotions which causes her to vocalize it. Ellie, like many other dogs, just needs some guidance regulating, which is why consistency has been so helpful.****
