Hi Folks, your Spring Thaw and Summer Sizzle photographer here. I know everyone is busy with more shows and trying to stay cool, but for those of you who may not have seen it, the link to the gallery for Summer Sizzle is

I have attached a few example proofs from the show. Ordering instructions are also posted.
A couple weeks ago I had an online discussion with an exhibitor about digital images and prints, and thought this might be good general information to share with everyone.
The untouched digital images in full-frame and APS-C cameras have an aspect ratio of 3:2, which for prints equates to 6”x4” (or conversely, 4”x6”). If you take that digital file and try to have it printed at a larger size that does not have the same ratio, one of two things will happen. Either: (1) A portion of the photo will be cut off, or (2) there will be white space in the margins.
I crop most of my digital images to 8"x10" since this is the size at which most people have prints made for framing. In some instances, that cropping doesn't work (such as when a subject is longer and narrower like a driving four-in-hand or a wide group photo) and I have to use a different size, usually 4”x6” or 5"x7" but sometimes 9"x16". When that occurs, I will advise the client because the cropping size will affect the printing size. Digital files will provide perfect prints as long as the prints have the same aspect ratio as the digital version.
If you plan to purchase photos from the shows and have them printed at a size other than 8”x10”, you can let me know in advance and I can crop them to the exact size they will be printed. If you already have paid orders and need to have any shots re-cropped to a different size, I am more than happy to do that without additional charge.
Hope that this information is helpful to everyone.
