Montgomery County Animal Services is a department of the County of Montgomery responsible for enforcement of laws pertaining to animal issues in Montgomery County as well as providing public animal sheltering and animal adoption services. To report a stray or nuisance animal please call (910)572-3067 or email your name, phone number, description of the animal, and address of the last known location of the animal to [email protected]. Animal Control officers work 7A - 5P Monday - Friday. To visit the Montgomery County Animal Shelter for inquiries about adoptions or to surrender an animal, the shelter is open to the public 8A - 3P Monday - Thursday. Friday and Saturday hours are 8A - 11A. The Montgomery County Animal Shelter is located at 442 Landfill Road off Hwy 24/27 West of Troy.

Montgomery County Animal Services has spay/neuter vouchers available for purchase, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Margaret T. Petrie Spaying and Neutering Foundation!

These vouchers are a fantastic way to make spaying or neutering your pet more affordable, helping to control pet overpopulation and improve the health and well-being of animals in our area.

✨ Success Story Alert! ✨

Meet Dawn aka Ellie, a brave little kitten who arrived at Montgomery County Animal Services needing a lot of love and care. She was incredibly sick, but our team worked to nurse her back to health. And just look at her now! Dawn has been adopted into a wonderful family and is absolutely thriving. Her favorite things include snuggling up for naps on her patient dog brother, pouncing on all her toys, and reigning supreme from her cat towers. This is why we do what we do! So happy for you, Ellie Dawn!

Gilligan is soakin up the sun today and inviting you for a picnic with a pup!
Gilligan will do questionable things for a treat, that’s how we got him on the rock and the table. Little did he know, we were sneaking photos the whole time. How could we not? 😍
This handsome boy is ready to hike, hug, play fetch (he brings it back!), play with all his dog friends, or just snuggle up to you on a rainy day.

He has lots of love to give, treats to eat, tricks ready to learn quickly, and really impressive leash walking skills and social skills with pups.
He knows sit, lay, shake, and is working on “dance” and “roll over”. He keeps a clean kennel if he is let out to potty regularly. He can be shy at first but when he opens up, he is very loving and loyal.

Come meet Gilligan, he is ready for his furever home.
