Escatawpa Animal Clinic

Escatawpa Animal Clinic Full service veterinary clinic established by Dr. Michael McCoy in July 1977.

Escatawpa Animal Clinic was established by Dr. Michael McCoy in July 1977 as a mixed animal practice with emphasis on large animal medicine and surgery. The business first occupied a small rental space in the center of Escatawpa which served as a place to practice preventative medicine and treat small animals and a headquarters to dispatch a mobile veterinary unit to the farm for large animal prev

entative medicine and treatment. In 2003, due to further changes in veterinary medicine and more emphasis on small animal medicine, Dr. McCoy demolished the old clinic and built a new 3,500 square foot, modern small animal clinic on the same lot. This allowed Escatawpa Animal Clinic to offer many more quality services for small animal medicine and surgery and to expand those services.

Good afternoon, EAC Family!!

We just wanted to let everyone know that we are phasing out 3 products from our prevention inventory. We will no longer be carrying Simparica Trio, Seresto Collars, and Vectra 3D in clinic. We have a NEW product called Credelio Quattro(we advertised in our last post) that is cheaper and covers more parasites than Simparica Trio that we will be carrying along with our Heartgard, Nexgard, and Nexgard Plus. If you would like to still be on Simparica Trio, you can fill it on our online pharmacy at https://www.myvetstoreonline.pharmacy/ .

We have also updated our website!!! Don't hesitate to check it out at https://www.escatawpaanimalclinic.com/ and if you scroll to the bottom of the home page that is another way to get to our online pharmacy!

We will also be CLOSED on Friday, April 18th, in observance of Good Friday. We will back open on Monday, April 21st. Have a Happy and Safe Easter everyone!

Good afternoon!

We hope everyone is staying safe in this weather and all your fur babies are safe, inside, and cozy!

We just wanted to let the EAC family know as of Monday, April 7, we will NO LONGER be carrying Simparica Trio in clinic. You may still purchase it on our online pharmacy if you prefer to stay on it.

We will be introducing a new product called Credelio Quattro. It's cost is comparative to Simparica Trio, but it is more coverage. It also has INSTANT rebates rather than online.

"Protect your furry friend from head to tail with the only monthly chewable that offers the broadest parasite protection against six types of parasites: ticks, fleas, heartworms, roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms.

Indications: Credelio Quattro is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease and the treatment and control of roundworm, hookworm† and tapeworm infections.

Credelio Quattro kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations and the treatment and control of tick infestations for 1 month in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older and weighing 3.3 pounds or greater."

Good Afternoon!!

We just wanted to address a recent issue we have been having. We love to support and see adoption from our local shelters. We are on the list for Jackson County Animal Shelter for a free shelter exam and intestinal parasite testing. This is where we have been running into an issue.

Yes, the EXAM is FREE.
An EXAM is just the Doctor looking at the animal and a discussion of what the animal may/may not need.

Yes, the INTESTINAL PARASITE TEST is FREE.
De-Wormer is NOT FREE and must be paid for.

ALL OTHER SERVICES ARE TO BE PAID FOR!

Also, shelter exams are ONLY valid for 7 DAYS after adoption. And we need proof with paperwork or it will not be a free exam and f***l.

If the dog/cat is sick or has intestinal parasites or heartworms, YOU are responsible to pay for testing/medications!

We have just been having a high frequency of clients being told or assuming that the free exam we offer our shelter babies includes the whole visit, but it does not.

We are just trying to clear everything up so clients aren't getting frustrated or disgruntled with us.

Thank you everyone!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Thinking about getting a “free” puppy or kitten? Let’s break down the real cost.

Sure, you might not pay an adoption fee—but what about the vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, and deworming they’ll need? Those expenses add up fast—and that’s if you can even get a vet appointment anytime soon.

When you adopt from HSSM, your pet comes fully vetted—spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, etc. That’s hundreds of dollars in care, all covered by one adoption fee. Plus, you’re not just gaining a pet—you’re saving a life and helping to break the cycle of overpopulation in our community.

98% of the animals that come through our doors aren’t spayed or neutered. 94% aren’t microchipped. And when those “free” puppies and kittens grow up and have more litters, the cycle keeps going. Choosing to adopt means you’re part of the solution.

UPDATE: Brindle Male and All Black Female puppies have homes! The other 3 and Mama still need homes!!!

!!!STORY TIME!!!!
Once upon a time, about 6 weeks ago, a young expecting maiden dog, formerly known to us as Baby Girl, was relinquished to us from a broken home.

She had experienced things on Earth that no woman, much less canine, should ever endure. Yet she was strong, resilient, and jovial.

During the following 2 weeks, we showered her with affection, food, and common decency.
She then began to whelp. The heavens blessed us with 5 young babes, while 6 perished. 2 young lasses and 3 young lads.

The young maiden was relieved to be without children. She began to live her best loved life.
It was then decided that she will don a new name, Matilda, for her new life. A life of love, happiness, and no more abuse or pain. A name of might and strength for the girl who had been through so much.

It is now we come to you with a request….
We are looking to rehome Matilda and all of her babes.

Her sweet children will be 6 weeks old on December 20th. They will be dewormed and have their first set of vaccines done. We would like proof of veterinary care of other animals in the household prior to adoption. We hope that you would consider keeping us as their primary veterinarian and if you do they get a FREE year of heartworm prevention as they age.

As for Matilda, she is a 2 yr old pit mix. We will spay her when she is fully healed from birth in about a month. So she will probably be ready for her furever home in late January. She is heartworm positive. She has been around cats and other dogs. She hasn’t shown any aggression towards either. She is fully vaccinated and dewormed. She will come with a FREE year of heartworm prevention. We HIGHLY request keeping us as primary veterinarian just because we love her more than you will ever know. We would like proof of veterinary care of other animals in the household prior to adoption. We also would like for you to come in for a consultation prior to adoption so we can discuss Matilda’s future treatment and needs.

SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY!

Please reach out to Escatawpa Animal Clinic at (228)475-8881 if interested in Matilda or her babes.

PLEASE SHARE TO THE GOOD FUR PARENTS!
