SUNY Morrisville Equine Rehabilitation Center

SUNY Morrisville Equine Rehabilitation Center Our goal is to provide top-level care for your equestrian athletes needs! Please visit our website!

Our facility works with you and your veterinarian to provide rehabilitation, therapy, and/or conditioning treatments to get them back on track! The SUNY Morrisville Equine Rehabilitation Center (ERC) offers equipment and rehabilitation techniques to keep healthy horses conditioned and to help injured equine athletes recover, post-injury or post-surgery. One of the very few publicly accessible equi

ne rehabilitation facilities in the Northeast, the ERC is run by skilled, trained, and knowledgeable professionals who have dedicated their lives to horses. Located on 103 acres of land three miles west of SUNY Morrisville’s campus on Route 20, the multi-million dollar campus addition boasts a 40,000-square-foot riding arena, stabling for 40 horses, and a complete rehabilitation center with state-of-the-art equipment and therapeutic modalities. Equipment and therapeutic modalities include an underwater treadmill, indoor swimming pool, solariums, a cold salt-water spa, laser therapy, and therapeutic ultrasound. The ERC houses the college’s thoroughbred racing program and has made way for a new equine physical rehabilitation option in the existing equine science bachelor degree program, giving students more opportunities to contribute to and find employment in the equine industry. The facility offers the greater equine community of horse owners and trainers a unique level of service that, until recently, was unavailable locally. It also made way for a new equine rehabilitation therapy concentration in the existing equine science bachelor degree program which will provide the Equine industry with graduates who have had training in equine rehabilitation and therapy. 💫SENIOR - Samantha Bright💫

“Hi! I’m from Ballston Spa NY, and I started riding when I was ten and I’ve been in love with horses ever since. After two years at another college in an unrelated program, I realized my heart wasn’t fully in it and I wanted to return to the equine world and Morrisville gave me that opportunity. This program has given me the chance to do so many cool things, ride some amazing horses, and meet well-known professionals. I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of both the Huntseat team and the Western team, as well as major in both Equine Rehabilitation and Equine Reproduction, and I will always cherish the memories I've made!”

In the spring she will be heading to Harris Paint Horses with Tim and Cindy Harris in Maryland for her internship!

It was a pleasure to have you and we wish you luck on your internship! 😊👏🏼

🌟SENIOR- Marisa Stetson🌟

“I'm from New Hampshire and grew up riding hunt seat. I have been in the equine community for my entire life. When i came to Morrisville and took my first western riding lesson I knew I wanted to continue on that path. I have learned so much from the western program from riding unbroke colts to riding the experienced horses they have to offer. I found SUNY Morrisville based on the Equine Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation program. I knew immediately I wanted to go here. I have learned so much through this program and was able to stay at the rehab barn over this past summer. Morrisville has opened so many opportunities for me and I'm grateful for everything I have learned. It truly has prepared me for the industry.”

Her internship will be at 3H Equine Hospital and Mobile Veterinary Services!

It was a pleasure to have you and we wish you luck on your internship! 😊👏🏼

The Equine Rehabilitation Center would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to the summer interns, who spent their summer days with the horses who needed some extra love and care! Treadmilling, Swimming, Magnawaving and more! The students not only learned more about rehabilitation, therapies and conditioning but also horse behavior, how to handle horses that are not quick to settle into new environments and barn care. Each student has their own goals they are working towards for their future, but together this summer they worked on one goal, to achieve the best outcomes for all of our patients. Cheers to a successful summer AND to the beginning of the new Fall Semester. Good Luck Students! 🍀🌻🐎😊

*We also took one day to go tour the Saratoga Racing Hall of Fame, learn about the history and got to meet Hall Of Fame Jockey, Ramon Dominguez.*
