Thank you to everyone who has called or emailed about our sweet boy, Boe. Please see the following update per our friends at Companion Animal Advocates, NJ #2-

❓Did you take time to call or email because you care deeply about justice for Boe?

📣 Community update — and an important request:

⚖️ At this time, we are asking you to please stop calling and emailing the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. We have been advised that the case is actively under review, and continued outreach may interfere with the careful work that needs to be done.

🙏 We want to sincerely thank every person who took time out of their lives to advocate for Boe. Your calls, emails, and voices mattered. They helped ensure this case received the attention it deserves.

🤝 How can you help right now?
You can help Boe by showing what responsible, effective advocacy looks like, respect, professionalism, and restraint. This allows authorities the time and space they need to do their job thoroughly and correctly. If further outreach becomes necessary, we will clearly let you know.

❓Can we all pause outreach now and allow the Prosecutor’s Office to focus fully on reviewing the case and pursuing Justice for Boe?

Important stuff! Words mean way less than what we give off to our dogs - frustration, anger, calmness, etc. This is a big part of what it means when trainers say they train people more than dogs!

Please reach out for help if your dog is Resource Guarding. The "old school" concepts of "showing them who's the boss" can be counter-productive and dangerous.

Resource guarding is a dog's instinct to protect valuable items like food, toys, or space, often leading to aggressive behaviors such as barking, biting, growling, and lunging. 🐾

Signs to watch for:
Stiffening over an item
Hard stare
"Whale eye" (whites of their eyes showing)
Lip lifting
Low growl
Baring teeth
Snapping
Resource guarding can be caused by fear, anxiety, frustration, territoriality, or early experiences with valuable items and other dogs.

How to manage it:
Provide enough high-quality food, toys, and a comfy space.
Use positive reinforcement—teach your dog to trade items for treats.
Be patient and consistent with training.

With the right approach, your dog can learn to feel safe and secure around their resources! 🐶For all things behavior modification Eleventh Hour relies on the expertise of The Well Behaved Dog by Paul Barish, Cbcc-Ka https://buff.ly/40P6EyR

If your dog displays any aggression, muzzle conditioning is highly recommended. Aside from the obvious, it should lower your stress and as a result, your dogs. Then, you can better work on modifying the behavior. Only use a basket muzzle. Video on my website.
