☀️ Summer Pet Safety Reminder ☀️

Florida heat can become dangerous for animals very quickly during the summer months. Hot pavement can easily reach over 110° and burn paw pads within minutes — if it’s too hot for your bare feet, it’s too hot for theirs. Grass and shaded areas are always safer.

🐾 Signs of heat exhaustion can include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or stumbling

Always provide plenty of fresh water, shade, and cooling breaks during outdoor time. Shorter walks and limiting activity during peak heat hours can help prevent overheating.

🐴 Horses and livestock also need extra care in the heat with additional water, airflow, shade, sprinklers, and cooling baths when needed.

Summer care is about more than just letting pets outside — it’s about understanding heat safety and recognizing warning signs before an emergency happens.

Stay safe, stay cool, and give your animals a little extra grace during these hot summer days. ☀️🐶🐱🐴
