Are you ‘asking’ your dog to lay Down, or are you ‘telling’ them to? So often I hear “sit or down” in a questioning tone instead of a statement that says this is what we’re doing.

The energy behind your tone is quickly decoded and then interpreted by your dog. One leaves things up for negotiation while the other makes it very clear nothing at all is up for grabs.

Doubt, hesitation, and a lack of assuredness, paired with a pushy, demanding dog, is a recipe for disaster. Dogs are masters at interpreting believability and using that to their advantage in any situation. A dog that is unsure of who’s really in charge, or is confused as to what may be allowed or not, will always design rules that serve their own agenda.

One of the main goals for Nugget was to help his insecurity and get him potting outside regularly. Look at this boy use his bell and follow the steps of not running out the door! He’s well on his way and I think the bell boop is absolutely adorable!

65 days with us. Pip got her lady bits taken care of yesterday. She’s started out weighing 23 lbs. today she weighed a healthy 35 😍❤️
I know she looks sad but she’s still d***y in this picture. She will be just fine!

2025 was my first full year of just training, I loved every bit of it and can’t wait to help more dogs in 2026!
Starting with Pip’s goals for the year………..She is really good but needs to learn what she can and can’t chew on in the house. She also likes to eat 💩 when she finds it outside. She will drop it if I catch her but hoping someday we don’t have to deal with this. And lastly, working on her recall and growing her ability to help in training with me. Happy New Year to all!
