Fun Day Friday

This post is 100% making fun of myself!!

We used to spend several weeks/months in Cheyenne Wyoming in the summer days. We would go to Lyons Park to walk around the pond.
Many many years ago I had this genius idea to turn my pup loose that had an “amazing” recall to run and play. She spotted the duck before me and went after it, at this point I realized my recall was not that great!!
Sooooo duck flew straight to the water, pup went in with amazing confidence and zero hesitation. For me to realize if I didn’t go in too that there was a high possibility she would drown from exhaustion. So in I went!!! The red arrows is the duck and puppy, the next few photos are of me swimming after the dumb creature 😅😅
End of the day she was happy as a clam and I was not but she did not go off lead after that for a while 😜

We learned a lot and was very impressed with this club and most of the people there. The drive was horrible and hope to NEVER see Cincinnati again 😅😅 But over all a great and successful weekend.

Play time with Hex!! One of our goals with young ones is not focused on obedience since that is such an easy thing for them to learn. But it is largely focused on building solid character!
Making sure they are confident in new situations, new or strange dogs or people, walking on different types of surfaces, hearing loud and unexpected noises like guns/fireworks.

Building character and confidence is a huge start to their success as an adult!!!
