Giardia has become one of the most frequent problems found in our patients' f***l samples. Giardia is a microscopic protozoan that lives in mud and contaminated water. This can be transmitted to pets by them drinking contaminated water or by grooming areas on themselves that may be contaminated from lying in an infected area. Currently, in PA there have been 19,987 cases in dogs and 3,466 in cats this year. Many patients are asymptomatic.

This week alone, we have experienced 15 missed appointments or last-minute cancellations. If you have recently called to schedule an appointment, you probably know that sometimes it takes a few days to get in, even for our sick patients without charging an urgent fee. Unfortunately, that also means 15 patients had their treatment delayed or were sent elsewhere due to our limited availability. Given this unfortunate trend, starting next week, we will be charging a $57 fee for appointments missed or canceled within 24 hours of their scheduled time.

Update: Credit cards have returned! Currently, our credit card system is down and they aren't sure when it will return....

Currently, our credit card system is down and they aren't sure when it will return. Currently we can accept cash or check. However if those aren't available, we can take your card and hold it on file until we are able to run it. (We will shred afterwards)
