The Union County Animal Control is located at 908 Sandy Lane, Morganfield, KY 42437. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00 am -4:00 pm. The county shelter only impounds dogs. Due to the number of animals received, the shelter is unable to keep them forever, so their time is limited. Strays brought into the shelter are held for 5 days before being available to the public for adoption or rescue.

This allows time for owners to be reunited with their pets. We recommend TAGGING and/or MICROCHIPPING your pets. We do scan for microchips and check for tags at our facility. The public is encouraged to visit during normal business hours if interested in adopting a dog from the pound. More information on adoption is available at the facility. We strive to maintain good working relationships with area rescues in order to give each dog the best chance for a better life. We highly recommend all pet owners spay and neuter their dogs. The Union County Animal Control will require all adopted dogs to be spayed or neutered.

Kittens, Kittens, Kittens!! 🐈‍⬛ 🥳🐈

With a busy spring kitten season and an even busier summer kitten season UCAC could use some support from the community. We are currently running low on dry kitten chow.

That being said, we have below some pictures of some of the kitties we have helped this year and a few different types of kitten chow that we use most frequently. Any brand or size bag of kitten chow is accepted gratefully 🙏🏼🤩.

If you have the means and would like to support the mom cats and kittens, you can drop donations off at 908 Sandy Lane Morganfield Ky 42437 Mon-Fri 8am-4pm or after hours into our Danhauer drop box or the brown metal box outside of our gate, you can also have it shipped directly here if that’s easier for you!

2026 ADOPTION PAWLOOZA at the Owensboro Sportscenter was a success for so many sweet pets!! UC Cause for Paws, Inc and Union County Animal Control - Kentucky were blessed to have 2 dog adoptions, 4 kitten adoptions and 1 sweet adult cat go to rescue!! There were a total of 41 adoptions yesterday from the 9 shelters that participated!! Thank you to Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky and the many volunteers that assisted everyone at the event! Huge shoutout to everyone that stopped by, visited and loved on all the available animals at the event!!
