Pet Safety Reminder for the 4th of July 🇺🇸🐾
As we celebrate the 4th of July, we want to remind all pet owners to take extra precautions to keep your furry friends safe. Fireworks can cause severe anxiety in many animals, leading them to run away or hurt themselves out of fear.
🔹 Keep pets secure – If your pet is nervous around loud noises, please keep them indoors in a safe space such as a crate or quiet room. Turn on music or the TV to help drown out the sound of fireworks.
🔹 Consider boarding – If you can’t safely contain your pet at home, boarding is a great option to ensure their safety.
🔹 Always leash your pets – Make sure your dog is leashed before you step outside. Check that collars are secure and not too loose.
🔹 Update microchip info – Ensure your pet’s microchip info is current and that they’re wearing their county dog tags. If you need a dog tag, we have them available at the shelter, most are then $5.
🔹 If your pet goes missing – Send us a message on Facebook Messenger with your info, your pet’s info, and a clear photo of your pet.
🔹EASY WAY TO IDENTIFY YOUR DOG- You can put a piece of tape on your dogs collar or use a sharpie to mark your dogs collars with name, address, and phone number.
Let’s work together to make sure all pets stay safe and sound this holiday weekend! 🐶❤️
