The Union County Animal Control is located at 908 Sandy Lane, Morganfield, KY 42437. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00 am -4:00 pm. The county shelter only impounds dogs. Due to the number of animals received, the shelter is unable to keep them forever, so their time is limited. Strays brought into the shelter are held for 5 days before being available to the public for adoption or rescue.

This allows time for owners to be reunited with their pets. We recommend TAGGING and/or MICROCHIPPING your pets. We do scan for microchips and check for tags at our facility. The public is encouraged to visit during normal business hours if interested in adopting a dog from the pound. More information on adoption is available at the facility. We strive to maintain good working relationships with area rescues in order to give each dog the best chance for a better life. We highly recommend all pet owners spay and neuter their dogs. The Union County Animal Control will require all adopted dogs to be spayed or neutered.

🌡️ URGENT: Protect Your Animals Tonight! 🌡️

We’re facing a 63° temperature drop overnight — from 70° down to a feels like 7°. Please take steps now to keep your animals safe and comfortable:

• 🐾 Add straw to bedding for extra warmth

• 🌬️ Put up wind blocks to shield from the bitter cold

• 🥣 Provide palatable food and fresh water to help them maintain energy and stay hydrated

If possible, please bring your pets indoors overnight and tomorrow morning!

Animals depend on us — let’s make sure they’re protected before the cold sets in. Share this message with neighbors and friends so no animal is left in the cold!

HoHoHo! Santa came early to the Union County Animal Control this year!! Huge thank you to the employees of Rayloc for gathering much needed supplies, treats and dog & cat food for the shelter animals!! We are so blessed to have such a supportive community!!
