Good Morning Friends,
Normally, today would have been our annual Opening Ride Dinner and Derby Party. As we all know, these are not normal days. Here in Ohio we are under a Shelter In Place order from Governor DeWine because of the COVID-19 virus until May 29. The Chagrin Valley Trails and Riding Club has hit the âpause buttonâ on all of our group activities until we are safely allowed to do so. We hate to use the word cancel, so we wonât! Activities will be postponed until later in the season and we are still planning on a full slate of rides and activities for the late summer and fall.
While we are unable to come together as a group, and the MetroParks buildings are closed for the summer, the Parks themselves remain open. If you chose to ride, please be aware that traffic within the Parks is at an all-time high, and some people might not know proper trail etiquette when it comes to horses. Remember Social Distancing as well. The Metroparksâ guidelines are as follows:
BRIDLE TRAILS
Approximately 82 miles of bridle trails are available for equestrian use. Please observe the following bridle trail rules:
Bicycling is prohibited on all Cleveland Metroparks bridle trails.
Hikers are permitted on bridle trails, but must yield to horse riders.
Horse riders may only use designated bridle trails. Straying from the trail or creating a new path is prohibited.
As with everything you do, please be safe. We are so looking forward to a celebration with you once we are safely able.
