Routine checkups are vital to your cat’s health, especially because they age much more rapidly than we do. A cat reaches the approximate human age of 15 by their first birthday. Checkups are crucial because a lot can happen in a “cat year.” For more reasons why you should take your cat for regular checkups, visit https://bit.ly/3oGEB1w.

🚨 Longhorned ticks: What should you tell your clients?

The Asian longhorned tick (Haemaphysalis longicornis) has been making headlines as it spreads rapidly across the U.S., now found in almost half of all states.

One major concern? These ticks can reproduce without mating — a single female can lay up to 2,000 eggs and create a whole new local population on her own.

However, here’s what your clients need to know:
✔️ They do not transmit Lyme disease in the U.S.
✔️ The main risk is to farm animals, especially cattle.
✔️ They rarely bite people and aren’t aggressive toward humans.

The best advice remains the same: Use tick preventives consistently, check pets regularly, and reassure clients that panic isn’t necessary.

Learn more about the tick’s spread, potential risks, and what to watch for in our latest Trends article.
