We had another wonderful day of surgeries last week dedicated to advancing pet health through our spay and neuter services. It is truly a privilege to work alongside pet owners and support the well-being of our community.

We also had multiple people stop in to update their vaccinations on their fur babies!

Below are just a few photos of the adorable patients we had the pleasure of caring for this week. We look forward to continuing to serve you and your pets.

To schedule your pet’s spay or neuter procedure, or wellness exam and vaccinations please contact our office at 218-570-8729 🐶🐱

Tick Disease Awareness for Pet Owners:
Recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data show that tick‑related emergency room visits are at their highest levels in years. The Midwest is currently experiencing some of the highest rates in the country, making tick prevention more important than ever. To help protect your pet, we strongly recommend keeping your dog vaccinated against Lyme disease and maintaining consistent monthly tick prevention.

Protecting Your Dog:
Preventing tick diseases is far easier—and far safer—than treating it. Vaccination, combined with reliable monthly heartworm, tick, and flea prevention, offers the best protection for your pet.
Please contact us to discuss Lyme disease vaccination and to ensure your dog is on effective year‑round parasite prevention.

Signs of Lyme Disease in Dogs:
Most dogs infected with Borrelia bacteria never develop symptoms.
For dogs that do show signs, symptoms typically appear 2–5 months after the initial tick bite, when the infection may already be affecting multiple parts of the body.

Common Signs of Lyme Disease in Dogs:
Dogs that become ill may experience:

-Intermittent limping or lameness that may shift from leg to leg

-Fever

-Loss of appetite

-Decreased activity

-Swollen lymph nodes

-Painful or swollen joints

Lyme Nephritis
A small percentage of infected dogs (approximately 1–5%) may develop Lyme nephritis, a serious kidney condition. Signs can include:

-Edema (swelling)

-Weight loss

-Vomiting

--Diarrhea

Lyme nephritis can be life‑threatening, making early detection essential.

Protecting Your Dog:
Preventing Lyme disease is far easier—and far safer—than treating it. Please ask us about vaccinating your dog against Lyme disease and getting started on effective heartworm and tick/flea prevention today!
