Her name is Birdie and she is here!! She is decompressing in my extra room. She is making progress and letting me pet her now. Birdie is my late grandmothers nickname so it holds a special place in my heart. She loved calico cats!

All the animals are doing well so far. The dogs aren’t so interested it’s concerning. I do keep the door shut but no one is laying at the door crying. The only thing we need is pup food!

I do have a question! How long should I wait before getting this girl spayed? I would like to do it as soon as possible but I also don’t wanna stress her because she has gone through a lot. Cats are funny and I usually deal with dogs. Any advice?

Well here’s something I never thought I would say but we will be (hopefully) adding a cat to the mix!! This sweet baby showed up to a house 3 weeks ago and no one has came forward for her. 😭 Her we think lol. She is coming up to us but we haven’t been able to catch her. I’ll keep y’all posted! We are hoping to catch her this evening. Name suggestions are welcomed! ❤️

Got my girls away from the chaos for a day. It was so nice to spoil them. They do deserve it tolerating all the pups that pass through. We are all home safe and feeling recharged. We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend, stayed safe, and remembered our veterans. Let’s do this! ❤️💙

It’s been a long week full of heartbreak. We have to keep going for Claudia and the other babies we’ve lost over the journey. 🌈❤️

We have a BIG need for food. These babies like to EAT. We have been so low on funds and food recently. We would truly appreciate ANY support.

My sweet Ms. Claudia, who had a lot of issues, is now fully healed. She crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday after I made the VERY hard decision that she was ready. 🌈🥹 She was tired and done fighting. She wouldn’t eat, drink, and barely got up. She was no longer her bossy and demanding self. She lost her s***k. If you have ever had to make that decision then you know that feeling you get when it just feels like it is time. Yesterday I had that after I returned from running an errand. She didn’t meet me at the door which she hadn’t been. I went to check on her and I just knew. Most recently she had been battling with her usual skin issues which never caused her to be so down. So I think she was just old and exhausted. Ms. Claudia was the very first sanctuary dog and to be trusted to care for her was such a honor. She holds a VERY special place in my heart. 🩷She definitely kept me busy barking orders at me (literally), her meds, creams, and all the things in between. I got to love her for two years. I am very devastated but happy she is running free. We’ve been low on funds. Just like everyone. Ms. Claudia’s peace was $113. We would really, really appreciate anyone who could help offset the cost. Picture of receipt is last photos. We know we are gonna have to buy the pups food soon enough!

Claudia is living her best life per usual. She truly thinks she runs the show and maybe she does. 🤷‍♀️ Claudia has been worried about the food bins being low. If you would like to contribute we sure would appreciate it! 🩷

Side note I have redone the wishlist to fit the dogs I have in my care currently. For example the h**p oil really does help Bubba get around.

Bubba update! Bubba is doing well. This pic is from over a week ago. He’s gained weight since! I need to get an updated picture. He’s getting used to our routine and things are going a lot smoother. Bubba day ✌️ I believe. We are learning one another. He wants to be wherever I am. He barks and barks at me every now and then. I don’t know what he wants. I try food, going outside, and attention. I think it’s anxiety so I ordered him some H**p oil. I also found out he is scared of storms so that’ll help with that also. He seems stiff in his hips like maybe he has arthritis. He’s so, so sweet. He has a gentle and calming demeanor about him. 💛
