😡 BREEDERS 😡
STOP TELLING YOUR BUYERS NOT TO TRIM THEIR PUPPIES UNTIL 6 MONTHS OLD. 😡
I don’t know where you got your information from but it does NOT damage the coat in anyway trimming it before 6 months. That adult coat is going to come in no matter what. You are not the groomer that is trying to detangle 3-6” of fuzzy puppy coat mixed with silky or coarse adult coat.
YOU are setting your buyers up for failure by doing this.
BUYERS
Get those puppies into a salon as soon as they have their second set of vaccines. They do NOT need a haircut but they need to get used to everything before that 6-7 months of age. If not been groomed by then, a lot of them are out of control and sometimes already 60-70 lbs. you try grooming a dog of that sz biting at the dryer, trying to do alligator rolls on the table, don’t like their feet touched, can’t get their face brushed, trying to bite the shears, etc. THIS IS HOW ACCIDENTS HAPPEN!!!!
You do not need to get their coat trimmed until you are ready but some of them, the coat can get out of control very fast and before you know it, they are matted. Trying to shave down a matted puppy is the absolute worst thing for them. Their first haircut being a horrible experience. Take care of the coat early on, get them used to the whole process then ease them into a full groom.
DO NOT TAKE GROOMING INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR BREEDER!!!!! They are there to sell you something and make money, thats it!!
