It has been a tough year for us. We had three older rescue dogs, and although we took great care of them, we unfortunately lost all three over the past 12 months due to age-related issues. They were fantastic companions, and their spirit is deeply missed.
Realizing the love and companionship they brought into our lives, we decided to adopt again. In March, we got home Leila, a beautiful two-year-old female Rottweiler. Due to an unfortunate situation, one of the children in her previous household became severely allergic, leading to the necessary rehoming. This was no fault of the family or Leila, and since joining us, she has been absolutely phenomenal.
Then, on August 17th, we went to Northern Ohio and adopted Atlas. His story is much more heartbreaking, but like a phoenix, he has risen from that complicated past.
The photograph I'm attaching is a testament to how well Leila and Atlas have bonded over the past couple of weeks. They roughhouse, play, and are incredibly tolerant and gentle with each other. It’s incredible to see how both dogs thrive when given the love, respect, and dedication they deserve.
I encourage everyone to consider adopting a furry friend. There are many dogs with heartbreaking stories, and others with happier ones; all of them need our love, time, and commitment. The love and joy you receive in return will be tenfold.
The photograph was taken tonight, and I can't wait to create more family memories with these two in our pack!
