After 5 years in business we have decided to close our doors at the end of June. I am heartbroken to leave this chapter of my life behind, but I have to make the choice that will ultimately be best for my family. I will post more specifics later on future plans because I don’t want this to be the end. But for now I just want to take a moment to appreciate all of our amazing clients.
Some of your dogs I have been grooming for close to a decade. A lot of them I’ve known since they were tiny puppies getting their first bath. I’ve watched them grow from rambunctious babies to amazing dogs that I love as much as my own. I have made some amazing friendships that I will never forget. I’ve watched y’all have babies and get married and say good bye to your loved ones. While caring for your pets while you navigate life’s ups and downs, we have celebrated all the victories and grieved all the losses with you. So to all my favorite clients, Please continue to be amazing!
We have worked with over 20 rescues in our 5 years to help hundreds of dogs in a number of situations. Everything from momma dogs and multiple litters (at the same time 😆) to hiding out our “witness protection dogs”, and a lot of boarding while they wait to catch a plane out of state. Emergency grooming/boarding services for dogs taken from hoarding and neglect situations have broken my heart and also made me so thankful I have the ability to help these poor babies. All of that was possible because of your support! It takes a village and y’all are such a huge part of that! So please continue to help! Rescue, donate, adopt, and support your local rescues.
My children have grown up in the shop. While other kids spend their summers at the pool, mine have spent it at ScallyWags. Learning, playing, supporting, helping, and working their little butts off, and sometimes causing absolute chaos! My youngest was 3 months old when we opened in March of 2018. Many of you will remember her growing from a little baby in a bouncy seat or strapped on my back in a carrier, to the wild haired 5yr old secretary that is manning the office or bringing your dog up to you after their groom. My 11 year old can groom better than most, and “boss lady” better than me! My 12 yr old has learned to fix almost anything I break, as well as being my go to tech support guy. My 16 yr old can boss a whole crew of kennel techs through a holiday weekend all while answering phones and bathing dogs. And we can’t forget my dad in his 70’s up here every day, walking dogs, cleaning, doing laundry, and being our shop “dad” to everyone that has ever worked here. He’s the real MVP. The memories my family has made are irreplaceable. So please continue to be kind to small businesses and their staff.
I can never express the gratitude that I feel to so many of you for making all of this possible. The support y’all have offered over the years has made so much magic happen. I will truly miss the whole experience. This isn’t good bye, it’s just see you later ❤️.
