It is with a very heavy heart we had to say goodbye to BJ’s Crimson Dynamite “Dyna” late Friday afternoon. We found in mid August that Dyna had advanced stages of cancer that had pretty much taken over her entire chest cavity, constricting her heart, lungs, and shifting her trachea. She had shown no outward signs and we only found it due to some weight loss and urination issues, as boxers are soo good at hiding pain (she had dropped 7lbs in a little over a month). There was no remedy but to make her comfortable until her quality of life was no longer there. Sadly her strength and life quality dropped quicker than we had hopped. As much as we wanted to keep her with us we couldn’t be selfish and wanted to be sure she was still herself in the end. We took a final short hike on Thursday afternoon with her favorite toy (a frisbee) and even though she wasn’t as fast or as stable she couldn’t resist a few throws. Friday we went down to the lake as she loved to swim and fetch in the water but it was just a visit and a memory as we couldn’t chance her strength swiming. Her “nub” was wagging even in the last few moments we had before letting her go at home with the assistance of Peaceful Partings (an in home service) so she wouldn’t be stressed.
Goodbye “Deenermeater” our happy sweet girl. The pain is gone, but your paw prints on our hearts will always be there. 😢💕🐾🌈
PS - sorry not sorry for the long video.
