Another informative post from the wonderful group at Canine Arthritis Management. If your pet suffers from arthritis, or you think they might have arthritis, check out their website for tons of wonderful information!

Osteoarthritis tends to reveal itself late in its course, because the initial changes are within the joint and therefore not visible, plus because your dog has 4 limbs, they can shift weight, change posture and cope.
Diagnosing and therefore treating canine arthritis relies on the owner noticing changes in their dog’s mobility and posture; the way they walk, run or lie down; their capabilities and just their overall behaviour.
If you find your dog is showing any signs of not being themselves, it is best to get advice from your vet.

Cats are masters at hiding their pain. Behavioral changes are often the only difference we see.

Arthritis is a hidden disease in cats, but there is so much we can do to help keep them comfortable as they get older!

There’s no single symptom that points to osteoarthritis in cats. Learn to look out for these signs of a cat in pain.
