The show season is underway! The first CVHS show is in the books. The Devil's Image and Bethany Towne won every class they presented in: Adult Western Equitation, Western Equitation Championship, Registered Breed Road Hack, and the Open Road Hack Championship. He also carried his Jr. Exhib through her first full w/t/c classes. DSG Evening Joy was 2nd in the Morgan In-Hand class. The next show will be June 11-12. Had a very fun week with a great bunch of young equestrians! Over the past week, students in the lesson program were invited to attend a day program in which they were involved in the daily caretaking of the horses and got to ride daily. And on the last day, we painted Joy! A big thank you to Madison for helping out all week!

The July CVHS horse show is now complete, and it was a total success! Congratulations to Madison Finelli, Rebecca Sykes, and the wonderful The Devil's Image "Doc" who exemplifies the athleticism and versatility of the Morgan horse. Go Team Doc!

Towne-Ayr Farm is currently accepting applications for a 2014 season intern. We are an active training, lesson, and competition stable in Berlin, Vermont, just outside the state capital of Montpelier. Intern is to be involved in all aspects of the business, with responsibilities depending upon experience. This will include daily chores and operation oversight, along with the opportunity to instruct, ride, and train- all under supervision of resident trainer/instructor. Intern will also attend competitions to groom. Our competition schedule this season includes dressage, schooling horse trials, events, and “A” rated Morgan breed shows. If there are specific requirements that need to be met for a college Equine Studies degree, we will work with the intern to fulfill those requirements. This is not a paid internship, however on-site housing is provided, and board may be negotiated as well. Potential for monetary compensation when applicable (such as grooming tips, etc).
