Orien
A1957741
5 yr old male
Scared, Confiscated for cruelty along with other cats, including Pirate (A1957760) also on euth list.
Orien was confiscated for cruelty. He was only given 9 days to adjust to his new surroundings and the shelter staff assessments before being added to the euthanasia list. He is acting out with the shelter staff when they open his cage and try to interact with him. On 1/8 a staff member reported that “The cat just stared at me as I reached into the cage. I was able to pat on head and scratch ears. When I tried to pick up the cat he pulled back hissing”. Since the staff cannot pick up the cat and he has hissed or growled as staff approached his cage he was placed on euth. Please share to reach a kind and patient adopter or rescue foster that has room for him and will give him a second chance at life where he can learn to trust a person to treat him with love and respect his boundaries until he is ready to trust.
How to save: If you can Adopt, Adopt to re-home or are a current rescue partner and can rescue, you MUST email [email protected] BEFORE 9AM with the words DO NOT EUTH and the Animal ID # in the subject line (serious commitments only). Email MUST include your name, contact information, and what time you can pick up the cat tomorrow. DO NOT email unless you are personally picking up the cat! The shelter will not hold cats for out of state adopters, so don't email and ask. MUST BE PICKED UP TOMORROW IF READY!! Please also send a copy of your email to [email protected] so we know who is still in danger.
