These are just a few of the many dogs and puppies in our care. We have 60 puppies and 35 adult dogs that we are trying to support and with your help we can. We currently are out of puppy food and dangerously close to being out of adult dog food. These babies need our help. Through no fault of their own so many dogs and puppies are put in terrible situations and can’t survive without our help. For instance just in this picture alone one was left tied in a truck, one was on the side of the road and watched her buddy get ran over and killed, one was left behind because the owner went to prison, one was found after the Spring on the Square event bleeding after most likely being stuck by a vehicle and this is just the tip of the iceberg. For reasons like this and so many other reasons is why we have so many. These dogs and puppies would have no chance if it wasn’t for the Good Samaritans who report or pick them up and work with us to foster if we have no room. To save and take care of the dogs and puppies we are so glad to partner with such a great community. Our organization works hard and puts in countless hours to rescue all that we can and place them in a home where they are loved and valued but we do depend on the community for donations. Right now we are in need of food. If you will please go to the about tab on our page it will take you to all the links we have. We have a very heartwarming story to share. Both of these dogs went to Connecticut 3 weeks apart. The Brindle dog name is Doree and was adopted 2 weeks before the Husky/ Shepherd her name is Joanie. After Doree was adopted her family wanted to adopt her a buddy. They went back with Doree and decided they would let Doree decide on who they would adopt. Doree gets there and runs straight to Joanie and would not leave her. The adopter knew Doree had made up her mind. The foster saw this picture and noticed the 2 dogs had been adopted. The foster contacted the adopter and thanked them for not only giving one rescue a home but two. The adopter mentioned they had adopted Doree. When the foster hears this she knows she was the foster of Doree and was also the foster of Joanie. Doree and Joanie spent three weeks together at the same foster home. Little did the adopter know that Doree saw and knew that was her foster sister and they had been in a home together previously. Now they are no longer foster sisters but forever sisters in their new home.

Update: 2 of our volunteers found and was able to catch the other dog which was a female. She is safe!

We would like to thank the Good Samaritan who took this baby out of the middle of the road after she found her hit and dropped her off at the vet. She got in contact with a member of our group who made arrangements to get this baby to the Monticello Animal Clinic and put her under our account. Unfortunately after X-rays and tests her internal injuries proved to be too much. Broken back, shattered pelvis and internal bleeding caused this baby to pass away. She was picked up around Ft. Hill. There is another dog that has been with her. The dog is pictured in the post. From the information we have received they are believed to strays or dumped. If you see the other dog please contact 2nd Chance so hopefully we can save it from the same fate as its buddy. Helping the dogs takes teamwork and again thank you to the lady who cared enough to stop and try to save this baby.

These fur babes made their way up north with a piece of their fosters ❤️’s in July. We are so happy they have a 2nd Chance for a great life!
