🐄 🐂 📕 To Our OG Summer Intern Karly (“Karl”, “The Kid”) 📕 🐂 🐄

Well, the time has finally come to leave us for college. Thank you for being our go-to helper and for taking on the jobs nobody else wanted, from Sunday night baths to chute maintenance, house sitting to dog watching. You somehow survived muddy boots, wet dogs, ag paint and our endless list of “just one more thing before you go” requests.

We are excited to see you head off to NICC to study Dairy and Beef Science. Honestly, it seems like the perfect fit for someone who’s never been afraid of hard work or getting a little dirty.

We’re going to miss having you around, but we know you’re going to do great things. Keep learning, work hard, make some memories, and don’t forget about us when you’re home on break.

🎉 👏 Congratulations to one of our outstanding team members as she heads off to veterinary school 👏 🎉

We have been fortunate to have Sydney as part of our clinic family, where her dedication and enthusiasm for veterinary medicine have shined every day. Although we are sad to see her leave, we are excited to watch her take this next step toward achieving her goal of becoming a veterinarian.

Her passion for large animal medicine is inspiring, and we know she will make a tremendous impact on the field.

From all of us at the clinic, thank you for your hard work and commitment. We wish you success, happiness, and countless learning opportunities in the years ahead!

📚 To wrap up our Intern Spotlights we say “see ya later” to Maggie Loes 📚

Maggie spent the first two semesters and summer break at Family Veterinary Services. She is returning for her Senior Year at Cascade High School.

Maggie completed her intern presentation on McMasters F***l Floatation technique and interpretation.

Maggie’s favorite part about working at FVS this summer was learning how to do so many things and she will most miss the people. We will miss her smiling face and quick whit. Best of luck and don’t be a stranger, Maggie.

🐴 📖 Today we wish Breanna farewell as she leaves for Ellsworth Community College. 📖 🐴

Breanna is excited to begin her studies in Equine Management and Applied Science. She is excited to continue learning more about horse training and care while gaining experience that will help her build a career in the equine industry.

Breanna presented her intern project on the difference between annual DHPP and DHPPL4 vaccination in dogs. Her favorite thing about her internship was the hands on experience she gained working with the animals every day. She enjoyed learning from the staff, building relationships with her coworkers, and seeing how teamwork helps provide the best care for each animal.

She will miss the people the most. “Everyone was welcoming, supportive, and always willing to answer my questions or teach me something new. I’ll also miss getting to work with a variety of animals and being part of such a positive team.”

📕 Wishing Seneca the Best as She Returns to School!

As summer comes to a close for our interns, we want to give a heartfelt thank you and farewell to Seneca Freeze as she heads back to her Veterinary Technician Program.

Over the past few months, she has been an integral part of our mixed animal veterinary team, bringing enthusiasm, curiosity, and a strong work ethic to everything she did. She successfully completed her internship project with an excellent case presentation on a patient with a broken leg, showcasing both her clinical knowledge and dedication to veterinary medicine.

We are proud of all she accomplished this summer and grateful for the positive energy she brought to our team every day. We can’t wait to see all the great things she achieves as she continues her education and pursues her veterinary technician career.

🐾🎭 We were so happy to have our amazing veterinary technician, Brooklyn, serve as a judge for the Pet Costume Show at the Great Jones County Fair 🎉
Brooklyn had a wonderful time seeing all the creative costumes, meeting the adorable participants, and helping celebrate the special bond between pets and their families. From funny and imaginative outfits to downright adorable looks, every pet brought something unique to the event!
A big thank you to the Great Jones County Fair for inviting us to be part of such a fun event, and congratulations to all the pet costume contestants who made judging such a tough job! 🐶🐱✨
We're proud to support local events that bring people and their pets together, and we're grateful Brooklyn had the opportunity to represent our team.

We had so much fun at the Fourth of July Parade.

It was overwhelming to see so many friendly faces. We truly appreciate each and every one of you and can’t imagine a better community to be part of.

Thank you Monticello, Iowa Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. for the Economic Development award for new build and the opportunity to serve as dignitaries in the parade. It was an honor and a privilege. ♥️🤍💙

Family Veterinary Services is looking for a high school student to join our team as a Kennel Attendant beginning August 2026!

Hours:
• After school
• Some weekends

Kennel attendants help care for the animals, assist with cleaning and laundry, and help with the general upkeep of our facility.
