To the puppy dumper,
I sat with your precious puppy yesterday as his soul left this world. I want you to know that he left, surrounded by caring people who petted him and loved on him as he fell peacefully to sleep. A sweet girl even trimmed his tiny toenails so they won't scratch God's hardwood floors in heaven.
While his passing brought him relief from his days of suffering, it took a heavy toll on me - I can't count how many times I cried yesterday. I volunteer with these pets because I see a soul inside them that deserves to be treated with love and compassion. When I encounter people who treat a trusting pet with a cold disregard for his life and his feelings of fright and pain, I feel my hope for the future slip, and buddy, I need that hope.
It should have been you who took him to the vet, and if you couldn't afford the care, you could have called the number on our building and a volunteer would have advised you of options. Abandoning a wounded pet alone on the porch of a business that was closed for the day would not have been one of those options.
If you have the Mama dog, please don't breed her again - either her genetics or her diet are not quality, as was evidenced by that poor baby's carpal laxity. We'd be delighted to help pay for her spay surgery, as well as that of any other pets you might own. Just text us at 769-281-8202.
Euthanasia is rare for Paws of Love, but when we're forced to make that choice, we pay for cremation of the pet, giving them dignity in death that they didn't find in life. If you'd like to chip in towards the cost for your puppy's care, our PayPal link is https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=BAUMGZJX72PJ8
Peace, an exhausted volunteer
