This is a hard post for us to write, we are broken hearted to tell you 27 lives were lost from the fire that happened on May 30th. Britt personally lost 7 of her kitties as the fire department could not safely let Britt get to her room and they passed from C02 poisoning…rest easy Sushi, Puma, Tessa, Charlie, Sakura, BB, Phineas. 6 kitties survived the fire but unfortunately had inhaled too much smoke and were in severe respiratory distress and were euthanized at the ER upon arrival…rest easy Jade, Frogger, Professor X, Whippet, D.O.G, and Toez. 2 kitties passed away days after the fire from smoke inhalation injuries…rest easy Kino and Pippin. 13 kitties could not be rescued in time as the fire spread too fast..rest easy Glaucomatous, Tilly, Calypso, Brian, Wolfe, Squirrel, Scabilicious, Gamma, Kokoman, Darth Vader, Roger, and Anakin. Britt DID get out over 50 cats and 3 dogs alive in time which is INCREDIBLE. All the kitties and 1 foster puppy have been placed into foster or other rescues. We want to say a huge thank you to First Ladies Farm and Sanctuary, Full of Cattitude, A Kitten Place, Paw Warriors, and Compassion Kind for taking on some of the foster babies and taking a huge weight off our shoulders. We will never be able to repay you. Another huge thank you is owed to Dr Sabshin and harmony vet care for all they did for us the night of the fire and the following week housing kitties and Britt’s dogs. Another big thank you to Epic Emergency Vet and VEG Clearwater for triaging all these animals that night and hospitalizing those that needed to be. So many thank you’s are owed to the many volunteers that came out to help and are still helping…it really does take a village. And lastly and massive thank you to our supporters. We don’t know where we would be without you. You have shown so much love this past week. I have no doubt Britt and Happy Tailz will come back stronger than ever because of your love and support. As Britt’s friend I can’t thank you enough for all the love you’ve shown her. She’s mostly stayed off social media this week but seeing all the support coming in is making her feel SO good. She can hardly believe that there’s people out there that actually want to support HER and care about HER. She thinks I’m crazy when I tell her she’s the most amazing person out there (I mean us cat ladies are all a bit crazy) but I’m not THAT crazy. Keep showing your love and support for Happy Tailz and hug and kiss all your fur babies. a little tighter tonight💗
