Meet Toby, a truly special cat who’s redefining beauty with every purr. Born with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), Toby has delicate, wrinkly skin that makes him look unique—but his spirit is as strong as any other feline’s.

His journey home began in 2018, when Georgina and Christopher spotted him and his brother Quinton on the RSPCA website. Still healing from the loss of their previous cat, they opened their hearts to this timid bonded pair. The brothers were scared at first, hiding under the bed together, but patience and love slowly worked wonders.

Toby’s skin requires extra care, and Quinton seemed to understand—always gentle during play. Their bond was unbreakable. After Quinton’s passing in 2020, the family honored him by adopting Leo, who also has EDS. Today, Toby and Leo are thriving together.

With over 221,000 followers on Instagram, Toby’s family hopes his story encourages more people to consider adopting special needs pets. “It doesn’t take any more to love them,” Georgina says. “They are still beautiful animals with amazing personalities, and they love you just the same.”

Examinations revealed Godot was completely blind. Her injured eye was severely inflamed and beginning to swell dangerously. The vet warned that without urgent surgery, the pressure could affect her brain. It was a race against time.

Throughout this scary process, Avahit never left her side, committed to giving her a chance at life. We were honored to send some supplies to support his incredible act of kindness. His gratitude was heartfelt: “It is really nice to know you’re thinking about us.”

Meet Tuffy, a semi-feral cat who spent over nine years surviving on the streets. Like many community cats, he faced constant struggles—scavenging for food, battling illness, and avoiding danger with no home to call his own.

Thankfully, a kind neighbor noticed Tuffy hiding in the bushes and began leaving food out for him. Over time, he realized Tuffy was growing weaker and reached out for help. With patience and care, Tuffy was safely trapped and brought to Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA).

Vets found him suffering from a severe cold, swollen sinuses, eye infections, and painful mats in his fur. With medication, gentle cleaning, and lots of quiet care, Tuffy began to heal—not just physically, but emotionally too. Slowly, he learned to trust again.

Once strong enough, he was neutered and later transferred to Katie’s Place Rescue Shelter, a safe space for FIV+ cats like him. There, he enjoys a heated cabin and a secure outdoor enclosure where he can live peacefully without fear.

Tuffy’s journey reminds us that every cat deserves safety, care, and a chance at a better life. Here’s to hoping this sweet senior finds a loving home where he can enjoy his golden years—warm, fed, and finally safe. 🐾💙
