Yesterday was SO much better for Maverick!! He was an angel!! There still wasn’t much competition in his individual halter classes but he did take a RESERVE AMMY STALLION against 3 others!! That’s an accomplishment in itself. And he was 2,3,3 in the multi color against some other beautifully colored horses. To say I’m proud of my boy for his first big show is an understatement!! We have a few things to work on, and I still want to pack some weight on him yet. Very thankful for the trainers who took the time to talk with me one on one and give me things to work on with him!! I have a month til the next show, let’s see what kindve difference we can make!! 🤩❤️ Standing Ovation Encore After Dark

We had an okay first day 😅 Maverick has no idea what to think about all the commotion of a bigger show like this. And it’s COLD. Like cold cold. He didn’t stand great for his halter classes, he was shivering so bad and all tucked under himself. They were small too. Andy did manage to get a few decent pics as he was moving around lol. He did take a unanimous 1st in multi color! I’m hoping tomorrow warms up and he’s better.

Yall ever had a moment when working with your horses that you’ve just been so happy you ended up in tears? Well I had a moment like that with my boy tonight. I ended up just knelt down hugging him and happy crying. We were working on some showmanship tonight for the first time, and he didn’t hesitate to do any little thing I asked of him. He worked patterns like he’s been doing it for years. This c**t is truly just amazing. The connection I have with him already is indescribable. I am SO beyond blessed, and grateful to have a stallion as amazing as this boy. I truly feel he’s going to help me reach my dreams in this industry, plus some. Don’t get me wrong, my girls means SO much to me, and they all play a special role in my program and my dreams.. but this boy.. this boy is special. And he’s still a BABY. The best is yet to come!! I still can’t thank Janet and Tony enough for letting me bring this extraordinary boy home, and I hope I can make you guys proud with him.

Both the kids are gonna get their own little photo dump post from today! First up is Cardinal Ridge Wicked Shelby. I couldn’t be happier with how she did. She may have over stretched herself in the ring but that’s okay, she’s learning and this was a lot for her to take in!! Love this filly so much.
