A few pictures of my favorite garden tractor. This is a 1963 John Deere 110. It's the first year John Deere made garden tractors. They are extremely rare now obviously because of how old they are and to find one with fiberglass rear fenders is rare because they only put them on from 63 to 65 before they changed to steel fenders. They did away with fiberglass because getting off the tractor you would often bump your hip or your butt on the fenders and crack the fiberglass so finding ones with these fenders that are this clean is definitely rare. It's also called a 110 Round Fender obviously because of the shape of the rear fenders. In 1968 they changed from round fenders to square fenders. The 63s also came with a k161 7 horsepower engine made by Kohler. Shortly after in 1964 they switched to a k181 8 horsepower engine made by Kohler and never put the 7 horsepower back in the 110's. The 63's came with a Peerless 3 speed with reverse transmission, then in 64 it was swapped for a Peerless 4 speed transmission also with reverse. You also had the option of a speed variator. This was a handle that allowed you to increase or decrease your ground speed without touching the throttle or slowing down any PTO attachments such as a snow blower or a rear-mounted tiller.
You could choose 3 attachments, a 38" mower deck, a 42" snow blade or a rear mounted tiller available in 22, 30 or 38" models. Over the next few years more attachments become available such as a 36" snowblower, a moldboard (garden) plow, a 20 gallon sprayer with optional 5' folding spray boom, a front mounted air compressor and a newly designed dump cart.
I was fortunate enough to have a 65 Round Fender given to me by one of my customers, I should have restored it but I ended up just getting rid of it. I regret doing that to this day.
Ok class dismissed! Haha
