Hi everyone! I just wanted to briefly touch on the messages I received yesterday. To be honest, they were pretty rough to read. In my entire grooming career, this was the first and only client I’ve ever had to fire, and I’d like to clear up a few things.
First, if you ever have an issue with your dog’s groom, please tell me! When you pick up your dog, you have up to 3 days to reach out and let me know if something needs adjusted. I’m always happy to fix things free of charge within that timeframe. My goal is for you to leave happy with your dog’s haircut.
However, if a concern comes up 2 weeks later, unfortunately that’s outside of what I can reasonably correct. At that point I can’t know whether it’s something I did, normal grow-out, or… let’s be honest… sometimes dogs get a little “at-home styling” in the meantime. 😅
I also want to say that I truly appreciate every single person who brings their dog to me, especially those who drive a distance. I try my best to show my appreciation whenever I can through discounts, free add-ons, or little surprises for my clients and their pups.
That said, please don’t weaponize how far you drive to rush an appointment or try to move ahead in the schedule. I will never rush a dog through a groom because someone drove farther. Your dog deserves my full time and attention, and unfortunately I can’t make appointments magically appear.
Another thing I won’t tolerate is guilt-tripping or weaponizing your dog to get your way. Comments like “my dog has surgery next week, perhaps you won’t have to see them again” "I thought you liked my dog more than that" are really upsetting to hear. I build relationships with these dogs and care about them deeply, so statements like that cross a line.
At the end of the day, I’m just a human like everyone else, and I have boundaries that deserve respect, just as I respect yours.
I’ve worked really hard to create a calm, happy, peaceful environment in my salon, because dogs absolutely pick up on our energy. My goal is always for every pup (and person) to have a positive experience here.
And trust me… I will protect the peace in my salon like a wild raccoon with a snack. 🦝🤣
Thank you to all of my wonderful clients who make this job so rewarding. Your support means the world to me.🫶❤️
