Shawnkara Australian Shepherds & Mini American Shepherds We breed for quality not quantity, temperament, structure and a sound dog. I am sole owner of my dogs Dad and I have been doing this for over 30 plus years.

Our dogs are not just a pretty face but dogs you can live with! We registered our kennel name is 1990. We do not take breeding of a litter lightly. We breed for our own program, and to continue a line we have worked towards for years. We feel each litter to be a lifetime commitment. We strive to place our puppies in homes that want to do it all. Hike, Camp, Obedience, Rally and even some service t

o help others. Occasionally we have adults available for adoption. And remember Aussies DO NOT come in a size variety.

Early training starts on the table. It teaches them to stand and stay standing if you’re using stacking blocks or a stacking box. You should brush them while talking to them, teaching them that the table is nothing to fear. Each of these pups were around 8-12 weeks old.

Thanksgiving oops litter!
Surprise #2
I have been dreading this post for a while now. When I was layed up from my back injections and my wrist and elbow surgery. My husband took care of cleaning and feeding my dogs. One day he came in and was upset, he yelled that two of my dogs were stuck together. I walked out to see which dogs it was. Crap wouldn’t you know it, it was Sailor and Wrapper. Sailor is a blue Merle boy and Wrapper is a red merle girl. To say I wasn’t happy was the understatement. I prayed that she wouldn’t take for several reasons. 1. Being Merle to Merle cross. I will not do the shots because they cause more problems. 2. Wrapper was only 10 months at the time of breeding. She turns one in November after she is due. Ugh 😩 3. Neither dogs have been pre-limed but are definitely getting done now. 4. Both dogs are clear of NAD, Sailor is full MAS panel clear through CHC, Wrapper carries the nbt gene and bet gene. Also carries one copy of CDDY, PRA-prcd, and Mdr1. Through CHC. 5. I won’t abort any litter, but we only seen 2-3.
I will be posting pictures but nothing is available as of right now. If anything becomes available it will be to pet/companion/performance home only. I plan on doing pre-lims on both dogs when the puppies are eight weeks old.
Please be kind this litter was not planned. Due date is November 1st.

Happy 2nd Birthday to the Tyme and Luke litter. Red tri male is JR pointed in UKC, Tate red tri female is mjr pointed in ASCA, UKC Champion (pending) and the blue Merle girl if Jess mjr pointed also in ASCA. Happy Birthday the the rest of the litter out there. Tate is loved and owned by Jonnie Brewer and I own the other two.
