Project Second Chance Announces Closure of Woof Lodge and
Renewed Focus on Core Mission
Monroe, MI — January 22, 2026 — Project Second Chance
recently announced the closure of Woof Lodge, the organizations legally
established extension designed to generate proceeds in support of its core
mission. Woof Lodge was originally created to provide a home for Project
Second Chance and to create a sustainable funding source for its
programs.
Several months ago the Board of Directors identified concerns related to
the overall sustainability of the Woof Lodge business model. After a
thorough review and extensive deliberation, the Board determined that
continuing operations was not feasible and that closing Woof Lodge would
best serve the long-term interests of the organization.
“We remain fully committed to the mission of Project Second Chance,” the
Board stated. “Refocusing our efforts allows us to strengthen the program’s
impact and ensure resources are directed where they are most effective.”
Project Second Chance is currently evaluating potential locations to
continue its programming and looks forward to expanding its mission-driven
work in a more sustainable environment.
