🌞🔥 Heatwave Alert: Keep Your Pets Cool and Safe! 🐾💧

With a scorching heatwave on the way tomorrow into next week, it’s crucial to make sure your furry friends stay comfortable and safe! 🐕🐈 Here are some tips to help your pets beat the heat:

Hydration is Key 💦 – Always provide fresh, cool water for your pets throughout the day. Dehydration can happen quickly in the heat!

Avoid Hot Pavement 🌡️ – Asphalt gets HOT in the sun and can burn paws. Try to walk your pets during the cooler parts of the day (early morning or late evening).

Never Leave Pets Outside for Long 🌳 – Dogs love their time outdoors, but in extreme heat, it’s best to keep them inside where it’s cool. If they are outside, make sure they have access to plenty of shade and fresh water.

Watch Out for Smushed-Faced Breeds! 🐶 – Pugs, Bulldogs, and other brachycephalic (short-nosed) dogs are at a higher risk of overheating. Keep them in cool, air-conditioned spaces and avoid strenuous exercise.

Create Cool Spaces ❄️ – Make sure your pets have a shaded, well-ventilated place to relax indoors. Consider using fans or air conditioning to keep them cool.

Never Leave Pets in Cars! 🚗 – Temperatures inside a parked car can rise quickly and become deadly in just minutes.

Shorter Walks, More Play 🏃‍♂️ – Reduce exercise time, and if your pets love to play outside, make sure they have access to shade and plenty of water.

Groom Regularly ✂️ – Regular grooming helps air circulate around your pet’s body. Make sure they’re not too hot with thick fur—consider a trim for long-haired pets.
