In Loving Memory of Turbo the Tortoise
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Turbo.
For 25 years, Turbo has been a cherished part of our clinic family and a true community figure. Generations of clients and their children have grown up visiting him, bringing him greens, taking photos, and stopping by just to check on him. He wasn’t just our tortoise , he was part of our story and part of this community’s heart.
Yesterday, Turbo passed away. At this time, we do not yet have definitive answers as to the cause.
As some of you are aware, there was a recent chemical spill in waterways across 17a from our clinic that is currently being investigated by local officials. We have been informed that the chemicals do not pose harm to people or pets at our clinic. However, out of an abundance of caution, we feel it is important to take extra precautions.
While authorities continue their investigation, we kindly ask that pets not be allowed to drink from the affected waterway or from any standing puddles in the surrounding area. We have also been informed that the chemical involved is highly flammable. For everyone’s safety, we are asking that no one smoke in our parking lot until further notice.
Although we cannot confirm any connection between the spill and Turbo’s passing, we believe it is important to pursue answers thoroughly. Turbo is being sent to Clemson Diagnostic Labs to help determine the cause.
Turbo touched so many lives over the years. If you have a favorite photo or memory of him, we would love for you to share it in the comments below. Seeing how much he meant to you brings comfort during this difficult time.
Thank you for loving him so well.
Rest peacefully, sweet Turbo. 💚🐢
