Title:
350 Miles In… The Cart Is Falling Apart | Emergency Repairs on Our Walk Across America

Tonight from Butler, Missouri.

After more than 350 miles walking across America with Enzo, the cart is starting to fail in multiple places. Some of it is from the extreme stress and misuse from constantly having to roll it on two wheels to keep it straight, and some of it honestly concerns me from a durability standpoint.

In this video I show the latest problems, the repairs I’m attempting, and where we’re currently camped tonight.

I’m still incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us get this far, especially Trolley Shop Records for helping us get going in the beginning. We started this journey with what we had and we’ve pushed this setup far beyond what it was probably designed for.

At the end of the day my biggest responsibility is keeping Enzo safe and comfortable while we continue this walk.

This journey has become about much more than miles:
Recovery.
Rebuilding.
Faith.
And proving that with God, grit, and purpose, you keep moving forward even when things start breaking apart.

Yesterday I posted about the website update… and today ended up being one of those unexpected reset days.

This morning we woke up to a broken cart handle, which honestly could’ve turned into a pretty stressful day. We were already getting a late start, but the incredibly kind owners at Whitetail RV Park in Rich Hill offered us as many free rest days as we needed, and today we decided to take them up on it.

Dan helped me get the cart repaired, and that alone lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.

During some downtime at the park, Enzo completely lost his mind every time an Amish horse and buggy rolled by 🤦‍♂️😂. This walk across America has definitely awakened the cattle dog in him.

When we got back to camp, I spent more time working on the website and got some exciting news — I was approved for a pet insurance comparison affiliate program I applied for over a month ago. After everything with Enzo recently and all the research I’ve done on pet insurance, that felt meaningful. There’s now a pet insurance page under Enzo on the website if anyone wants to check it out. I earn a small commission if someone gets a quote or policy, and honestly, that kind of support helps keep this journey moving forward.

I also updated the shelter spotlight pages and dogs we’ve met along the way. The site is finally starting to feel close to “real.” I’d say it’s about 90% done for now outside of continuing journal entries and daily updates.

More than anything, my heart is filled with gratitude tonight. Not because everything is perfect, but because we had a little peace today. Real conversations. Real kindness. Real connection.

I had a genuine moment connecting with Dan, his wife, and son today, and I think those kinds of moments fuel this journey more than miles ever could.

If anyone wants to check out the website enzoandi.com, I’d truly love feedback — good or bad. We’re building this thing one day at a time.

Peace and love from Enzo & I ❤️

Nobody Wants Riley… But She Might Be The Sweetest Dog Here

Today on our Walk Across America journey, Enzo and I visited the Nevada Missouri Animal Shelter and met Riley — a sweet lab mix who’s currently the 2nd longest resident at the shelter.
At first she was a little nervous and unsure… but after a few minutes her personality started shining through. You can tell Riley just needs patience, love, and someone willing to give her a real chance.
Dogs like Riley are the reason I want to spotlight shelters across America during this walk. So many incredible dogs are overlooked simply because they’re scared, stressed, or have been waiting too long.
If you’re anywhere near Nevada, Missouri, please consider meeting Riley for yourself.
