Big announcement time!
So as some people may already know, late last year I decided to leave my job of 10 years to start at a new salon. These past few months have been great, and with that being said, I have decided to take on ownership of this new salon I’m at! In the coming days I will be the proud new owner of Goldens and Hounds in Mokena, IL! I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity to own my own grooming salon, and I couldn’t do it without the help of my coworkers Christian and Sam, my father, and all my incredible clients and their lovely pets. I’m so excited to go on this journey with you all and I can’t wait to show you what I have in store for the salon! We’re going to be doing some remodeling in the coming weeks so look forward to a new look! But don’t worry! To all our existing clients of the business, everything besides ownership and look is staying the same! The location, phone number, pricing and services will all remain the same, just a new owner! Rest assured, Christian is retiring and leaving his customers in good hands with Sam and myself. If anyone has any questions for myself or Christian regarding this new change to the salon please feel free to reach out to us! His lovely guests will still be able to stay in contact with him, just let us know! He and I appreciate all the love and support we’ve received so far and couldn’t thank you all more. ❗️ATTENTION❗️

To our pet community,

We are open today during regular hours,

BUT,

We stand in solidarity and believe in showing up with care for those affected by the actions of ICE and this administration. I won't stay quiet, neither should you. Whether you stand with us, or not. It's our right to speak out.

This is deeply personal to me. I am a product of 🇲🇽🫔🌮immigrants, and this business was built through hard work, resilience, and the desire to want a better life for myself and my family, and offer a great service for our community. My work ethic, instilled in me by my parents, I am forever grateful for.

Our values shape how we care for our clients, our dogs/cats, and each other every day.

Staying open allows us to support our team and continue doing what we love—creating a space that feels safe, welcoming, and kind to everyone (two-legged and four-legged 🐶).

There’s no perfect way to show up, but we believe leading with compassion matters.

I will be donating a % of today's profits, and $2000 of my own money to the ACLU in light of the recent events.

✨️Dear, Clients & Friends✨️

I hope this message finds you well, as I wanted to share some important news with you.

❗️After many rewarding years in the grooming industry, I’ve decided to retire and embark on new adventures!❗️

This journey began just after high-school in 2017, and has been my full-time job since. Grooming was not my first choice for a career, but given my circumstances at the time (lost my dad in 2017), it allowed me to become financially stable. Life happened, and I had to get to work to make money. In search of a job, I found a passion in working with your pups!✂️🫧🐾

While I had dreams of going to school and playing in a world renowned orchestra, grooming allowed me to be in a more comfortable financial position to be able to support myself, and survive at the time.

MAN OH MAN. IT'S BEEN A RIDE!

All the way from traveling to different states for grooming competitions and dog shows, to having 15-hour groom days around the holidays, having 2 hour long conversations at check-out after you pick up fluffy (you know who you are 😉), and spending so many hours of my life with your 4-legged best friends, some of which were the sweetest souls I've come to know.

I am excited to get back into an orchestral setting, and start rock climbing again full-time! That fuels my soul, and I find it to be very important for me to chase at 26 years old.

Many options and possibilities are available to me for what I want for my future career, and I know that no matter what I do, I will succeed and be happy. Some say the sky is the limit, but I don't believe in limits. (except for my credit cards those are very real LOL).

With that being said,

I’m thrilled to announce that Caitlin, who joined us this past year, will be taking over the business!

Caitlin is passionate about grooming and has the full support of her family, friends, and myself. She’s eager to build on what we’ve created and expand our services to include creative grooming, as well as training and boarding in the future!
I’m confident that Caitlin will continue to provide the same level of care and dedication that you’ve come to know and love. I ask that you join me in supporting her as she takes the reins.

I’ll still be around occasionally, so if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the salon, and you can reach me through there! (Same number!)

Thank you all for your incredible support since my opening in August of 2024.

I am forever grateful for each and every one of you that stepped foot inside of Goldens and Hounds, and I hope you continue to support us in this transition period.
