We would like to say congratulations to our quilt winner, Donald Jefferis. We asked him how he found the quilt raffle and to tell us a bit about himself. Here is his response:
Thank you again for the quilt. Honestly, I never win ANYTHING!. So, I am amazed. My wife remembered, we saw your raffle posted on Foxhunters on Facebook. She tagged me...which is her way of saying "I like this, you should buy tickets". And the rest is history.
We live in Upstate South Carolina, about 15 miles from the Tryon Equestrian Center. We hunt with Green Creek Hounds. We have a new huntsman, David Raley. He is building a pack as we are starting from scratch with new hounds. David is a student of hound lineage.
My wife, Catherine is new to hunting, but has been asked to be a Whip and learn the the proper positioning of a Whip in the woods.
I grew up in Unionville, PA on the back of a horse. My Great Uncle Bob Jefferis was MFH/Huntsman of West Bradford Hounds. Attached is a picture of Uncle Bob. On the left is Johnny White, MFH/Huntsman for Brandywine. I started hunting with West Bradford when I was 6. When I was 8, I joined Cheshire Pony Club, and my mother began hunting with them. To this day, my two favorite Huntsman are Uncle Bob and Mrs. John B. Hannum, III. I have about 80 hunt prints, and Mrs. Hannum's is one of my favourite prints.
Again, Thank you.
