New Member!! Furry Paws Grooming
Help us welcome Tabitha Knight and Furry Paws Grooming to the Davie Chamber!
"My name is Tabitha Knight, the animal lover and groomer for all your fur babies needs. I am the owner of Furry Paws Grooming. We are a family of 5 with 2 fur babies ourselves. My husband, Chris and I have 3 kids which we also homeschool as well. We had a big loss in September 2023 when we had to put down our Tank boy, he was a 120 lb boxer/pit and had the best 13 years of his life. Now we have Lucy which is a Shih-Tzu/Pom mix and Stella which is a blue pit.
I was born and raised in a small town of Tyro and honestly didn't know what I really wanted to do when I was asked in high school. I did get a certificate in Esthetics but while I was doing that I actually started working at a grooming/ boarding shop in 2006 right out of high school and I just fell in love. I finally found what I was called to do.
I started working at a vet in advance when I moved to Davie, then things changed in my life and I switched to a vet that is in Mocksville. Things changed in 2020 when Covid hit. I was facing no childcare and trying to keep my family safe at the same time. I took a huge leap of faith and opened my own shop, something I always dreamed of doing. I knew that the drive would be further for some customers, but my clients showed up with lots of love and support to follow me. These same clients are still with me and I've developed a real friendship with all of them, plus I get the added bonus of loving on their fur babies.
Steadily the business has grown every year since opening. My ending goal is to grow even more by having boarding and daycare. It may take a little more time but in the end we will eventually get there. We love and appreciate everyone that continues to support us through this journey and will forever be grateful."
