Our Story
True Grit Pudelpointers is owned by Chipper and Tina Choquette. We live in Mobile, AL. Our search for the perfect dog for us began three years ago. While I wanted a dog that would both retrieve waterfowl and could point quail or pheasant, Tina wanted a dog that she could jog with, was family friendly, and shed less than the labs we were used to. We also wanted a little different than the German Shorthaired Pointers and Labrador Retrievers that are so common here in the south. The quest eventually led us to the Pudelpointer. We were pointed in the direction of Doug Rogers of Juniper Creek Kennels in Pensacola, FL.
Doug patiently handled all of our inquiries over a few phone calls, so we decided to head over and meet his bi***es Bella and True. That meeting with True was all it took. We jumped on the list for next available pups and never looked back!
We received our first Pudelpointer two years ago. Our girl, Reba, has been a great addition to our family. She has great intensity in the field and a sweet demeanor in the house.
We urge anyone interested in these puppies to ensure they have the TIME and resources to WORK with AND HUNT with these dogs.
