- We are in need of dog walkers. You must be over 18, and be able to lift around 75 lbs. We ask that you are able to commit to at least 3 dog shifts per month. We are in desperate need of Saturday night and Sunday morning dog walkers.

I must warn you, most are med to large breeds. Some are in need of manners and take a bit more time to remind them lol. Some are very shy and timid and need a friend to just sit sometimes.

All of them are worth it, and deserve love. Some just take more time to work through the hand that they have been dealt. But the feeling you get when you get the first tail wag or head bump is absolutely priceless.

Some of our volunteers have come to us as pals that want to catch up but don't enjoy the bar scene. That is a wonderful chance to work out walking a dog while your buddy cleans, and then you swap for the next dog and kennel. Great way to still spend time together, but do amazing things.

Some come to us because they are sick of humans and prefer the company of animals. Yes walking and cleaning are a requirement, but so is creating trust, and a bond. That is a huge step towards finding a forever home.

Somebody please go rescue this baby!! Usually I would say adopt, but he has been there for SO long and he is so deserving of being rescued and added to a loving family! Before you say you can’t….Go visit him tomorrow and then decide! PLEASE! There may be a few free boarding nights in it for you at the Biscuit!

Please. Please help him find his forever home! I know most of the wonderful people that help care for him at HCHS and they all adore him! How can he still be looking for his people?? Go meet him!!!!!

Doc got to go on another car ride this week! It was to the vet, but he didn’t mind.
Doc needed his vaccinations updated since he’s almost been here 1 year. He was able to get a 3 year rabies vaccine since we updated it before it expired.
So this is your reminder from Doc to get your pet’s vaccinations up to date!
Where should Doc go next week? Maybe his furever home…?

Well the snow shows up finally this winter, but thankfully it was short lived and warm temps eventually prevailed! 😻 can you tell I’m not a fan of winter?! At least most dogs loved it!

"GiGi" is missing from her home in Pisgah. Last seen about 6:45 last night on Dewy Street. She is a 25 pound 16 yr old Whippet who is unfortunately almost completely deaf, not wearing her collar or sweater and is microchipped. If you see her please call Allison at 402-590-7614, thanks for the shares!
