Foster mommy has been working on a bio for me:
Hi I’m Layna, I’m a 7 year old pitty mix looking for my forever home! Don’t let my age fool you, I’m a pup a heart that wants nothing more than to couch cuddle or play like crazy. I’m totally down for what ever you are because I’m that laid back and most things don’t bother me. I am a great companion dog.
Some of my favorite things in life are sun bathing, butt scratches, laying next to my favorite hooman under a soft blanket, going on adventures, and playing with my foster siblings or playing with soft fluffy toys (I’m all about the plush things in life).
My foster Momma says if have the goofiest, sweetest personality and play great with my foster siblings. I can be a little anxious in new places but once I warm up to new people and pups I melt like butter.
Some great things about me:
I’m potty trained and have great house manners!
I don’t need to be in a kennel. When my foster parents are at work I’ll find the comfiest couch with the softest blanket and lay there until they get home. Foster dad says I’m the laziest thing he has ever seen!!!
I know some simple commands like sit, stay, and no.
I redirect easy and I want nothing more than to please my hooman foster family.
Things that make me nervous:
Young children scare me
New unfamiliar places, people, and pets
Others around my food
Let me tell you a little about my story so you can better understand me. I was saved by a special lady from a situation and she brought to Unleashed to begin my new life over a year ago... that’s right I have been part of this organization longer than most.
I was living in a not so great condition out on a chain, starving, bred, and possibly tormented by children. This has left some mental scars on me making it hard to trust people and other pups. In the shelter I was struggling to make new friends and all the sounds and smells were making me so anxious till the point I was shutting down, so I went into foster.
My foster momma has been working hard with me to trust and be a pup again.. I have even made friends! I have 3 larger than me foster siblings that I get along great with. When meeting other new pups I need extra time because my guard is always up around something new. I need that time to decompress, adjust, and process what’s going on around me.
My ideal hooman I need is:
A experienced person that can take it slow with me, show me its ok to be me, and not set high expectations.
Someone with dogs that can do slower introductions.
I would also do great in a home with out dogs because I’m a more of a hooman lover anyway.
