STOP giving free dogs away. This pup didn't deserve the two weeks of torture as a bait dog that he received. Please stop putting your pets on Facebook and Craigslist. These are hot spots for people looking for bait dogs and cats. -------Thank you again for sharing and getting the word out.!!!!🙏

A Hero's Rest: The Dog Who Saved 40 Lives Before Finally Falling Asleep

After 56 relentless hours on the front lines of a search and rescue mission, a heroic dog finally allowed himself to rest curling up and drifting into a well-earned sleep. But before that moment of quiet, he had done something truly extraordinary: he helped locate and save 40 people trapped in the aftermath of disaster.

This brave canine didn’t pause, didn’t falter, and didn’t give up until every last life he could find had been found. Through rubble, wreckage, and uncertainty, he followed his instincts and training with unwavering loyalty, working side by side with first responders without ever asking for recognition. His only mission was simple: save as many lives as possible.

When his work was done and the adrenaline faded, the world saw not a dog seeking praise, but a tired hero surrendering to sleep. His collapse wasn’t weakness it was the culmination of resilience, grit, and heart.

This moment reminds us that heroism isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s about silent endurance. It’s the willingness to serve without spotlight, to press on when you’re exhausted, and to give your all for the sake of others. Whether in uniform, fur, or simply fueled by compassion, real heroes inspire us with their quiet strength.

So the next time we think of courage, let’s remember this dog not just for the lives he saved, but for the lesson he gave us in loyalty, selflessness, and the power of resting only after the mission is complete.

A bat 🦇 found at Rancho Santa Margarita Lake has tested positive for rabies, according to a report by the OC Health Care Agency.. The bat was found on the ground near a walking path around the lake on Thursday, April 17 at around 2:30 pm.

Anyone who may have had physical contact with this bat or saw someone else having contact with the bat is asked to call the OC Health Care Agency (HCA) Communicable Disease Control Division at 714-834-8180 to determine the risk for rabies. This phone line is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Owners of pets who may have had contact with this bat should contact their veterinarian.

The rabies virus is found in an animal’s saliva and is transmitted to people by a bite from a rabid animal. Although very rare, contamination of the eyes, mouth or an open wound by the saliva of a rabid animal can also transmit rabies. Most cases of human rabies in the United States in recent years have resulted from bat strains of rabies; bats have very small teeth, and their bites may go unnoticed.

It is essential to ensure preventive treatment is administered to stop the rabies virus from causing illness to anyone who may have been exposed to rabies. Medical assistance should be obtained promptly after exposure so any wound can be cleaned, and preventive treatment can be started. This treatment is safe and effective.

The HCA and Mission Viejo Animal Services Center recommend the following actions to minimize the risk of rabies:

-Avoid all contact with wild animals.
-Vaccinate all cats and dogs against rabies.
-Do not sleep with open unscreened windows or doors.
-If bats are seen inside the house or other structure, close off the area and contact animal control. Once the bat(s) have been removed, close off any areas allowing entrance into the house.
-Do not leave pet food outside where it will attract wild animals.
-Immediately wash all animal bites with soap and water, being sure to flush the wound well, then contact your doctor.
-Report all animal bites to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center at 949-470-3045.

More information about rabies is available at the Centers for Disease Control website at cdc.gov/rabies.

A dog’s love is the purest thing you’ll ever know. It’s not complicated by words or motives, just simple devotion that shows up every single day. It’s in the way they greet you like you’re the most important person in the world, no matter how long you’ve been gone.

It’s steady, without hesitation, a love that doesn’t fade when things get tough. A dog’s love isn’t about what you can give, it’s about who you are to them. It’s loyalty, comfort, and understanding, all wrapped into one quiet, constant presence that never asks for anything but to be near you..
